LG's Wireless 97-Inch OLED TV Is Full of Surprises
www.cnet.com
LG has introduced a 97-inch wireless OLED TV at CES 2023. The TV does not have any video inputs and instead uses a wireless transmitter box to send the image from a Blu-ray player. The transmitter box can be located up to 30 feet away from the TV and uses similar technology to standard Wi-Fi routers. The TV comes with three HDMI inputs and other typical ports. LG will also release the wireless OLED TV in 83- and 77-inch sizes. Pricing is yet to be determined, but LG's standard wired 97-inch OLED TV costs $25,000.
LG M3 wireless OLED : zero wires, zero problems
www.digitaltrends.com
The LG M3 Wireless OLED TV offers gorgeous OLED picture quality, low-latency wireless for gaming, a solid wireless signal connection, easy setup, and good sound. The wireless system works well, with a range of up to 30 feet on line of sight. The Zero Connect box needs true line of sight for optimal performance. The TV's picture quality and latency are indistinguishable from an HDMI cable connection. The only restriction is that the ARC connection is on the Zero Connect box, so if you want to use your own audio system, it needs to be within an HDMI cable's distance from the box. Overall, the LG M3 is a cool TV with the potential to shape the future.

The LG OLED97M3PUA 97" stands out with its massive 97-inch OLED display, supporting a higher refresh rate of 120Hz which is suitable for dynamic content and gaming. It also offers superior audio with a 40W output and advanced features like wireless connectivity through the Zero Connect technology, making it an excellent choice for a clean setup without the clutter of cables.
The Toshiba 55C450ME 55", on the other hand, offers a more budget-friendly option with a 55-inch QLED display. It supports a variety of HDR formats including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which ensures great picture quality. The lower refresh rate of 60Hz may not be as smooth as the LG’s 120Hz but is adequate for typical viewing and some gaming. It incorporates the REGZA Engine for enhanced picture quality and offers a range of smart TV features through VIDAA OS, making it a versatile choice for regular use.
For High-End Home Theaters: The LG OLED97M3PUA 97" is recommended for users looking for a large screen size, high-quality image, and innovative features like wireless audio/video transmission. It's ideal for a high-end home theater setup.
For Budget-Conscious Buyers: The Toshiba 55C450ME 55" provides a more affordable option with good features and decent performance. It’s great for everyday use and offers excellent value, especially for those interested in smart TV features and a variety of HDR support on a budget.
For Gamers: While both TVs support gaming features, the LG's higher refresh rate and support for both Freesync and G-sync make it better suited for high-end gaming setups. Toshiba’s model, with support for ALLM, VRR, and eARC also presents a solid choice for gamers, especially considering the budget-friendly price.
